Enyimba’s midfielder, David Tyavkase, has been ruled out for at least six months after a horrific training ground injury.
Tyavkase, who only returned to the club during the transfer window, broke his tibia after a tackle from team mate, Francis Okammor last Friday.
According to the club's website, a scan confirmed the severity of the situation.
“Unfortunately, it’s not good news. It is his right tibia bone that has been fractured and such an injury takes time to heal. He will be closely monitored and will be given the best treatment possible,” Ferdinand Ajere, the club’s physiotherapist told the club’s website.
“It will take at least six months for him to recover fully, that is essentially for the rest of the season, but he will recover. These are some of the unfortunate issues players deal with; however, the most important thing is for us to make sure he regains full fitness.”
Tyavkase was a part of the ‘Golden Generation’ of Enyimba players, who won two CAF Champions League trophies in 2003 and 2004.
